I Need Some Help

I’ll admit that I need and want a lot of help in life. I want advice to help guide me to the next level. Where I should go and ultimately, where I should live is just one part of life where advice is helpful. It’s kind of a tough subject for me and my family. None of them have ventured far from “home”. They don’t travel to far off places, and they often visit the same places the same way over and over. I love going to these places with them, but I want more. I want to see much more of the world.

I have never thought of my hometown as “home”. People say that your home is where your heart is, and that is often with family. I do feel comfortable with my family, and I do want to spend time with them, but I don’t necessarily want to live where they do for a long time. Maybe I will never “make roots” anywhere, but right now, I want to go on many adventures. I want to see if there is a place to spend the rest of my early adult life, and maybe beyond. Want to help me?

So far, I’m off to a good start, and I have been given a wonderful opportunity to see the world. In the Fall of 2022, my Mom and Dad supported me in starting on a set of adventures to learn as much about the world as I can. This blog is part of it. At the center of my adventures is traveling to many different places. Somehow, my parents understand that settling down is not part of any plan I’ve had so far. This was a communication struggle for us. For a couple of years, I struggled within myself, and then I had to reveal the result of my struggles (see the That’s My Vibe portion of this blog series for more).

I was raised with the push for a life on the traditional societal road of college, job, marriage, family in whatever order they were destined to come. But, I don’t really buy into destiny or fate. Most importantly, societal expectations are not a driving force. I’m not saying life doesn’t end up destined or fated, but can’t we always say that while we look backward? That’s just how life was supposed to go? Not for me. When did “life” become an independent force from “my” life? It hasn’t and it won’t. Only death gives life that power. If I have the chance to see the world, I’ll take it.

Where Have I Been, Where Should I Go?

Where have you traveled to? What is your favorite city, or your favorite country abroad? I’m posting in this portion of my blog some videos, pictures, and stories about where I have been and will continue to post new places as I visit them. I want to collect ideas, pictures, and stories from you about where you have had adventures, where you have had great experiences, and where the world taught you great lessons. If you think it is a good place for me to visit, let me know. I want your advice. Maybe it will be the place I want to stay for a while and experience for more than just a visit.

I have had very interesting travel experiences so far. You can learn more about them in this part of the blog now and in future posts. It’s not nearly enough of the world, though. I want to see so much more. So, where should I go? I can honestly picture myself traveling for several years. Working to live is something I am incorporating into my life. Making the most of my time at “home base” so I can have the best experiences when I am everywhere else. Would you help me by voting? Democracy should have a seat at the table and, time and money permitting, let it advise me on places that are worth seeing.

My other passions in life are music and dancing. I will often choose places based on concerts and festivals, so any advice on destinations that have that as a bonus, I would love to hear. In That’s So K-Pop, I write about my travels to see K-Pop groups in the U.S. I will be doing more of that kind of destination traveling, but I don’t want my travels to be centered on it. I do like a good pairing, though. For instance, a Harry Styles concert in Paris. Great combo, right? I’ve done that! Feel free to let me know of any traveling and concert duos you think are a good match.

Let’s go!! Here are the places I put at the top of my list. I have not been to any of these cities or countries yet. I have separated them into U.S. cities and international destinations. Where in the world should I go? When I get there, what is a must see? Feel free to “write in” your vote if it is not on the list. Vote multiple times, and vote for more than one. I have very flexible voting laws 🙂

Thanks for the help!  I’ll keep you updated on all of my adventures.
